Well done to Creative Smiles Team Member Leanne Cascone on completing The Mournes Seven Sevens at the weekend!
The tough challenge objective is to climb all seven peaks in the Mourne Mountains that are 700m or more above sea level with the highest peak Slieve Donard reaching over 850m high racing against the clock. Not only was Leanne the only girl in her group to complete all peaks she did it in record time of 11 hours and 13 minutes knocking over 2 hours off her time last year!
Over 360 keen climbers and fell runners took part in the challenge with Newcastle Air Show flying overhead at the finish line to meet the participants on their way home.
Money raised during the challenge was donated to the Mournes Search and Rescue Team.
